A MN Bug and Pest Spray technician will come out with a sprayer, mister and/or blower that sprays tiny droplets of insecticide deep into the area needing treatment. This treatment can be done similarly (in tandem) to the typical mosquito/deer fly spraying, or for an initial treatment your lawn can also be treated if you have found ticks in your lawn. Ticks are not typically active in regularly mowed lawns especially if they are sunny. Typically, the treatment is applied by spraying the borders of the property, shady perennial beds, trails and paths in the woods.
A typical tick spraying treatment time would be as soon as you start to find ticks or potentially before ticks are prevalent. Ticks are most active in May in MN. The Adult ticks stay active through June. Our tick spraying treatment will greatly reduce the Tick population and your likelihood of finding ticks on your family and pets. Almost everyone knows of someone that caught Lyme Disease from a deer tick. Knocking down the spread of Lyme disease is a huge benefit of spraying for ticks.
A side note on Lyme disease... if you suspect that you may have it, seek medical attention ASAP. It is treatable if caught early enough. If you wait too long to get treated it can not only be life altering, but also life shortening. Look up the symptoms and take note that there is not always a bulls eye shaped rash. This is the most common symptom people know to look for.
